Decal residue

Cheers folks, have tried the hot soapy water to no avail and don't have gt85 to hand but tried some Tri-flow which didn't work either. Gonna try the eraser and then maybe try glass cleaner and the meths. Still no joy I'll get some isopropyl tomorrow and WD, don't have a Lakeland near and some things I can't wait for :roll:

if you can find yourself any kind of "orange/citrus" based cleaner, that should break down the residue.

oh, and make sure you allow it to "sit" for a while before trying to wipe it off.

I've got some left in a bottle...I'll post it to you if you are still having no luck.

Ronsonol Lighter Fluid - it has hundreds of uses, it's always worth having a tin around the workshop.

And the winner is......citrus kitchen cleaner, spray on, wrap with a rag and a very mild scouring type thing and bobs your uncle.

You could also use citronella !!??You could also use caustic soda ...very dilute of course.. Then depending on your frame, polish it up with some Autosol?

Whats your tips for removing decal residue?

B-9 Boeshield...removes it easy, and leaves a protectant coat....won't harm finish...good stuff.

peanut butter - works a treat!!

dont believe me?? try it

wipe some peanut butter on the frame and let it sit there. wipe it off and then use a cloth with a tiny tiny amount of washing up liquid on it and wipe it - hey presto - all gone!

You said this when I put a residue thread up a while back.....always wondered how you learnt this!!



I always use nail varnish remover to get rid of residue BTW
