Dawes Sardar - 26" 631 tourer

Picked this up the other local on ebay, knew nothing about it, and to be honest, not many people seam too!

It's a 26" wheeled, drop bar touring bike.



Wasn't in good shape when I picked it up, but a clean up, Aliexpress high-rise stem, Richley riser bars, spoon charge saddle, new chain, cassette and cables and the 9 speed bar end Shifters put back together properly and it's had its maiden ride.

It's not bad at all, doesn't feel as fast as my 700c Ti gravel bike, but I'll try a few rides and see how we get on

You'll need to change those tyres to get a bit more speed from it. As @winjohn says they have a lot of love from us retrobikers.

They are hugely capable and make great multi purpose bikes

Yeah, really wasn't impressed with the tyres!

I used Panaracer Pasella PT folding tyres on my Sardar for mostly on road stuff. 1.75" fitted easily with mudguards

Nice bike. Tyres look fine for me for what you want to ride.

First proper ride on this mornings commute, fits lovely, rides nicely, shifts perfectly, although I did manage to get the left shifter stuck up my shorts leg crossing the railtracks!
Only thing I've found is that after riding my gravel bike almost exclusively since lockdown, it feels way undergeared, and the tiny slimline brake hoods aren't as comfortable as big hydraulic brake hoods!

A lot of people dream of a bike like this.

You need to carry more stuff or move to a hillier area.
