Dawes Sadar

The frame and fork are for 26, look at the canti bosses.
Someone has fitted 700s and caliper brakes.
This will Raise the bb, and might have other effects on the designed geometry, so it's a parts bike.

No mention of this in the description, just "new wheels in 2025"
Maybe he took it to halfords or Evans and they said 26s don't exist any more?

I've asked him

Yes I saw the canti bosses, that's a weird. Do you think the size is really 21 inch looking at the headtube I'd have guessed 23 at least.

The sardar was blessed with disc brake mounts, so if you wanted to go 700, surely you'd use discs?

It looks like thelargest size.
Iirc they came s/m/l,
equating to 18, 20, 22
The small wasnt very small, the med was large-ish and the large was xl.

We sold quite a few.

One of dawes greatest models of the 21st century.
Sadly there weren't many others.

I’m sure one sold recently on here, nice example too.

Well you'd need to be over 6' for it to fit - and it needs new wheels, (tyres?) and brakes, albeit 700 disc, 26 disc or 26 canti, so a further inward investment of £1-300

You could do 27.5 disc wheels and 45mm tyres and be cool with the kids.😎

If you actually want one, it's a fair price, but there are plenty of bargains out there.

A bike this quality, disc, 27.5, 653, would cost around 1500 new.

I had two.

Bought one brand new only to find an identical one at a police auction 18 months later for £30

Anyway, definitely 26 with disc mounts and Deore 9spd and a deep dark red flake paint job
