Dawes Echelon (spring project)!

Hello all,

I picked up a spring project on Thursday night, started the strip down on Friday evening, and finished the strip down this morning.

The only victim of the strip due was one of the tiny bolts on one of the top tube cable clips. So despite is being quite dishevelled it has been loved and looked after at some point.

The date stamps on the brakes are April 1978 so likely to be a 78/79 model.

I will get it rideable and if I like it I may treat the frame to a refinish.

Cheers.

Did you complete the restoration / rebuild of the Dawes echelon. I raced on that model as a schoolboy in the late 70s so have a soft spot for them

It is one of many I have yet to complete but spookily I did start cleaning up the stripped components at the weekend so you never know i may complete it later this decade lol

Good luck then with the restoration I will wait to hopefully see the finished bike. I will keep looking for one in my size. I did find a Dawes Mirage that I renovated last year, a great ride
