David Millar is officially the most eloquent British sports man of our times.

Okay he got banned for doping. Point is he is now a great force for good in the sport and he is showing the next generation, the right way forward. For me, British man of the match if there is such a thing in the TdF.

Must say that Geraint Thomas did well, Wiggy was robbed, Cavendish was unfortunate.

8th on the Champs Elleysee (SP! :shock: ) is great for Millar. I only hope his poacher turned game keeper routine does not hinder him being signed for next year.

Oh, International star for me has to be Levi Leiphimer. Stunning cyclist. Hope he wins next year though I feel a Contador era coming on.

I agree that Millar is articulate.

And I wish it didn't but Millar's poacher turned gamekeeper act does grate a lot - sanctimonious and hypocritical are two words that spring to mind (although I may have misspelled both).

And as for Leipheimer, is he clean? Rides for Discovery with Contador (Operation Puerto etc. - does it add to suspicion that Disco signed Basso only to drop him later?). All circumstantial of course but when riders won't distance themselves from disgraced doctors and lie about whereabouts where does that leave us? Are any of them clean?

And I wish that I wasn't bothered by all this but I am.






(Many apologies but I am feeling extremely cynical and treated by professional cyclists like a naive fool - it's like in the Wixard of Oz when the curtain gets pulled back).

I know how you feel, I am also bothered about this.

It is a real pisser to find out that rider X is a cheat. I felt really miffed as I was rooting for Rasmussen through the mountains.

To be botherd is good. Being bothered by this is the only thing that will fix it. Ignoring it and just watching the cycling won't help, the sport has done that since Simpson died!

You know one guy I know even said let them all dope, then it's fair! :shock: Presuamably then the sport just becomes American WWF Wrestling on wheels!
