Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Re:

OK. Catalogue scans sent.

Best remove that e-mail address, if the Chinese bots get it you will get swamped.

I had my address on a web site as I was secretary of a regional organisation, the bots got it and I was getting 10,000 nonsensical Chinese e-mails a day until the web site developers managed to block them.

Neil, I assume you've seen this since you are the Dave Lloyd master..... It's not mine, but pretty cool.

I have, but thanks for the heads up.

It was listed previously and disappeared quickly, I took it that I am not the only DL nerdy and someone had snapped it up quick, but possibly not.

It's not a thing I wish to own, but is interesting never the less.

Re: Dave Lloyd

I have a Dave Lloyd tri 800 I’m building up currently. There were brazings on th wishbone seat stay and top tube which were confusing. It appears that they re for a behind the seat water bottle system with drink tube running along top tube ! Does anyone either have one or any pics about as cannot find any ?? Cheers

Re:

Hi Neil

Hope you are well, you helped me a couple of times before identifying Dave Loyd frames, could you help me again?
The latest is LL93784 in Reynolds 753 tubing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re:

Always happy to help if I can.

LL93784 is an 800 TRI originally made for Neil Magean and is indeed made of yummy Reynolds 753.

Re:

Thanks very much for the info, yet another 800tri!!
Every time I find a Dave Loyd in my size it's an 800 tri.....I have 3 now! Should stop buying bikes from not-so-great pictures, in fact should just stop buying bikes. I have another frame which I think (hope) is a Concept 90, when I get to it hopefully you can confirm.
Sorry if my replies are a bit sporadic, I'm not used to using the forum and it took me ages to get back to this post!

Re:

Just keep buying the frames, sooner or later you will get what you are after.... plus a whole fleet of 800TRI's

Re:

This is my David Lloyd frame I built up in lockdown, really pleased with it! Any info on this all I have is the frame number on the bottom

Re:

7784 is not a Dave Lloyd number... what that means is that Dave did not build the frame himself, but that he had it made.

By the looks / style of the frame it is a late 1970's possibly early 1980's design, but it looks absolutely gorgeous, so the best thing to do is ride it and enjoy it.
