LL92585 is a 1992 road frame made of Reynolds 753 and was originally built for Mel Bentley.

That sound like a nice, fast, light frame.

Ah, Mel Bentley - wasn't he the guy that had the great little ads in the back of Cycling Weekly?
"Don't buy the wife a handbag, buy some Campag"

Sorry for the thread diversion,
Mark.

I have no idea, but I really hope so because that tag line is outstanding.

Info on frame, please

Have owned this bike for a few years.
Liked the ride so wasn’t worried about authenticity - and the Cinelli bottom bracket told me it wasn’t a cheap and cheerful frame.
Moving it on and off the turbo has chipped the paint on the rear dropouts and guess what, they are stamped “Dave Lloyd”
So a little sandpaper and I have recovered the frame number: LL90176
Any info gladly received!
Thanks

I'm sure Neil will be along soon but more pics of the bike would be nice :) don't recall Dave Lloyd stamping his name on the dropouts :)

Re:

Definitely need more pix.

Looks like a nice bike from the register, LL90176 is a 1990 made Road frame originally ordered by Chris Quinn and made of very tasty Columbus TSX.

Thanks for the info. TSX tubing.....better than i have imagined! 2 photos attached. She was powder coated at some stage....not the prettiest but ideal all weather bike. Rides beautifully - and certainly more zip than my old Raleigh Record Ace. The forks, I am pretty sure, are not original but there is no evidence of any damage from an accident and i have ridden her regularly for 5 years.
The conundrum I now have is that I have just picked-up a Bob Jackson 731os in pearlescent cream enamel with its all-original Shimano 6400 (Ultegra) tri-colour group set.
Cannot afford to run them both - and i had never given any credence to the Dave Lloyd stickers so hadn't thought it worthwhile stripping the powder coating and enameling her.

Re:

NICE!

Classic Dave Lloyd paint, and nice colour combinations too.

The carbon forks may well take some of the sting out of any rough roads, which can be a little wearing at the end of a long ride.

Enjoy!
