I see it more as touché to be honest. If someone is going to make silly offers and to be honest cheeky ones, then I think it's right they are spoken to with the same contempt. Sorry, I didn't realise that if someone was new that they weren't allowed to reply to rude people. Please take your condescending attitude to someone who will accept it, because I won't. If you're an adult, behave like one. :)

Well I suppose at the end of the day it's your bike and you can ask for however much you want

GLWTS

you'll need at at £1500

You will probably not find a better example / more sought after model of a Dave Lloyd bike than in the link below. This is a top end bike, top quality components and wheels. Note the asking price.

I think whoever advised you to ask £1500 was a little misguided. Personally I don't think Nob is far off when he says £400, but even that could be optimistic.

At the end of the day, put it on Ebay with no reserve and you will get what it is worth i.e. what someone is willing to pay. Put links to the sale on any forum you can find (here, LFGSS, Bike Radar etc) to maximise the interest.

Cheers

If you decide to advertise the bike on LFGSS - you had best read their rules first. They don't take kindly to cross-site advertising!

And they are much more critical of folk asking inflated prices for their wares...just a friendly warning.

Good point that, I have seen them rip into someone before for that. Bad advice, ignore it!!

And just because I'm new, I shouldn't have to keep my mouth shut. I can imagine you people are the type of cyclists that don't go by the rules of the road to be honest. ie traffic light jumpers and pavement crawlers. So, because of your attitudes towards me, this beautiful retro bike would never end up in your possession. If you want to spend £400, then go and buy Halfords Apollo top of the range. By all and don't forget the Highway Code......it's the law :)

Time Wasting Annoying Teenager

First of all, you come telling us you have no idea of it's worth, but you're now convinced it's worth all of the 1500 hard-earned pounds that someone has 'valued' it at.

You've yet to give specific information - frame size, proper equipment specs and decent, close-up photos...

Dave Lloyd bikes are sought after, but not at that price. A factory fresh bike, in mint condition, with all original parts might get you somewhere near a four figure sum, but not yours.

Those who know bikes, know of Dave Lloyd. So, wherever you choose to sell it, try losing the attitude, the immature insults and give potential buyers the information they require!

I own and cherish two Dave Lloyd bikes... one a mint titanium frame with a paint job to die for and a rare CATS WISKA's fillet brazed mountain bike.

The Ti road bike is draped in Dura Ace 7700. Admittedly, the wheels could be better, but I paid around half of your estimate.

The MTB was purchased at a price nicely below your quoted Apollo money and had all sorts of trick bits on it.

There are people on here that will quite rightly bemoan the perceived value of classic British hand made frames like this, it's a crying shame - unless you are buying of course.
