Thats crazy, a testament to the DMRs then. This is my worry with the Orange Prestige, I'm only light and not so lairy plus I never broke my old one, but thats making me wonder!

the problem with prestige tubing is its a bit thin to weld, your more likely to put more holes in it.

Can't you get a framebuilder to braze in a new top tube?

It's also a design flaw - the cable stop should be brazed on over the thick part of the tube to avoid the stress concentration underneath it. This kind of crack used to happen on road bikes by the gear bosses. Campag bosses were a particularly shoddy design with sharp corners. Good framebuilders filed the corners into a radius to reduce the stress concentration.
