If you could pm me with a few more pictures, that'd be great. Can you get a clear picture to me of the handlebar clamp on the stem. In one of the pictures it looks as if it might be cracked?

i think the very early blizzards had wishbones stays, however i had a 1993 Blizzard and i am sure it had normal stays...???
