copper grease inside sus forks ????

just opened my manitou 3`s and made a new steerer but found when the seller had greased them he used copper grease,is this bad??
I always thought you had to use pure lithium grease, and if bad will it be ok for one ride on sunday??

one ride mate, oneride. Chances are its killed the elastomers though. Copaslip is an assembly compound, not a lubricant. .

AM i right in thinking that lithium grease will kill elastomers too?

thats exactly what you should not grease your elastomer with. lithium is bad for your elastomers!

No lithium, melts the elastomers apparently

Gave my Manitou grease away, think its called M Prep though or use the Finish Line teflon grease

oh tits what can i use then,and no i`m not gonna use copper grease

I think any synthetic grease like silkolene rg2 should be fine.

thats exactly what you should not grease your elastomer with. lithium is bad for your elastomers!

It also reacts with the coating on the bushings causing them to seize up eventually.

elastomers look ok,they move about 2 inchs so all good i`m gonna go shopin for some good grease
