Cool and good performance commute/city bikes?

I dunno :?:
Don't get me wrong, I quite like Surly; they make quite a lot of well thought out bikes and parts.
But they're much too expensive to leave in town. Reanimation's new steed will give a Surly a run for its money in this guise.

This is the issue (same with my daily driver), You want to ride something thats quality, rewarding and responsive, and cool! But somehow send the signals out to the TWOCers and the jealous scally brigade that its not worth the effort trying. All depends where ya going and how much security you have i suppose for that. Feels wierd leaving the Revo in city centre for a short appointment.

:)

With this old roadie bike it will be great for experimenting with new alien biking!

when i was commuting in central bristol by bike i used my lava dome, built up with a short stem, risers, 1.5in slicks at 80psi and 1x8 setup with a 12-21 road cassette. it was quite a rough and tumble commute though, lots of aggresive riding needed

New Foes Pasadena. Couldn't see that lasting long chained to a railing.
