Must admit I still like it  . It's maybe not as good as it used to be but it's easy viewing .

Agree. As for the Mexican stuff 'the truth hurts'
Some of the hardest working people I've ever seen.

Did anyone care till the daily facis.. uh Daily mail whinged about it?

I love the way Coogan has liberally lifted nice chunks of his column from the Registers article on the 4th.

Taking the mick out of stereotypes is not allowed! "TG .. Cooler, 3 weeks.."

funny that given he's been on it 3 times
Um, er, he does say so very early on in his article...

isn't that like saying I've had my fun and it was great but now I don't want to do it then it's rubbish?

"comedy should always point upwards"

Meaning, that in you wish to get a laugh, mock, ridicule or lambast you should always do it to people who are more fortunate, more secure, more able or just plain higher up the food chain than yourself.
Clarkson, Moyles et al have all been guilty of mocking those in a worse situatiuon than themselves which is not kind or fair and 'in my day' was called bullying.

Coogan made comedy figure of Paul Calf* and Alan Partrige because we laughed AT the over blown stereotype. Unfortunately with the TG team you are being invited to laugh along WITH them, at others, which is quite different.

* Coogan broke Marx's rule with Calf.

Um, did you actually read it?

I've been on the show three times and had a go at their celebrity-lap challenge, and I would love to receive a fourth invite. But I think that's unlikely once they have read this.

So basically Coogan is saying:
Even though i'm slating them for doing what they do and i think their puerile and pathetic i really really wanna go back on there ! And i am not a hypocrite:)

Seems to me that he accepted them for what they were and had a good time driving on the show but felt that attacking the Mexicans was just a bit too far... or something..

Looks like the world is being taken over by the pc Mafia :x Most jokes make fun of a group of people.
And long may it continue.

+1 to that.

One of the best shows on tv imho.

Clarkson and co have the bollocks to say what they want and I applaud them for that and not pussy footing around being all pc.
