Clockwork info thread

Didn't the Orange Dynamo roadie come into production around '93? The decals used the modern bold extended sans serif font Orange were using at the time during 93/94.

Indeed. It’s one of those Orange conundrums. It would be great to see a rarity, with its ‘mystery’ decal, all faithfully restored.

You would have thought that such a brand-savvy image conscious company that’s always been aware of creating legendary iconic classics would have documented their development over the years. Given the cult following their bikes have, surely someone must know or have records. Also, given the level of retro interest in their old classics, surely it’s time for a definitive publication about Orange?

Going back a couple of pages in this thread, I noticed the MBUK snippet comparing the growth of Pace and Orange. In the column text Brian Marshall is mentioned as being Lester and Steve’s “right hand man”. I don’t know whether it’s the same one, but I bought my odd-coloured unmarked Clockwork frame very early ’93 from a Brian Marshall who had it knocking about spare. He was running a bike shop in Huddersfield and he'd had involvement with Orange. Is it the same Brian or is it just merely coincidence?

Same bloke I'd have thought.

I'm sure Lester and Steve would be able to clear up most of it if any one could get to speak to them. Most of the info is available but it's never been pulled together in one thread. Job for some one I guess.

Maybe a few years ago but I'm not on here as much any more and with my first child due any day I can't imagine I'll have much time  . Have not even had chance to clean up and start the yellow/white Clockwork yet.
