Well that's cleared things up 
I have zero knowledge of what would be best, particularly with my frame and the additional mix of gold & chrome in varying degrees of condition. The seat tube and front mech braze-on is the worst area that is for sure, the steel underneath is showing signs of starting to rust so needs some attention.
My minds eye has decided on a chrome rear triangle upto the brake bridge, full chrome forks and then deep gloss black for the remainder of the frame.
I shall seek advice from the paint shop, no doubt i'll have to shell out a fair amount for this and i've got 3 other frames I want doing so I could be keeping someone in work for the foreseeable future.
