Charlie Marriner British One Hour Record 1947

Charlie Marriner made cycling history at Herne Hill on the 20th august 1947. Charlie broke the one hour record held for 21 years by F.W Southhall with a distance of 26miles 1020yards. Check this link for more info on Charlie and some great photos.

yeah i found it inspiring. i thought it captured the atmosphere at street level really well.my skin tingles when the helicopters hover close.
i really want to be at the finish stage 3 with the big screen... don't know if its tickets though ?
