caution for parents & children with bikes

Is it me or is this pathetic
How can a child be held responsible and sued for what is,essentially,an accident :?
Sounds like another case of greedy money hungry relations,at 87 if you tripped over your shoe laces you could die,who do you sue then :?: the shoe company......these people are evil pocket money thieves that is all

my nan was knocked over by a little kid on a trike, was about 50 years ago, but might have to contact injurylawyers4u to see if she can still claim -

now, im not one for normally stiring up controversy ( ), but, have you been to Manhattan?
Its very densly populated in most areas. Also, reading between the lines -the parents consented to the kids 'racing' their bikes on the pavement, which is also illegal in Britain if im not mistaken?.

Not for one minute do I think the kids should be held accountable, but surely some blame lays with the parents?
Pedestrians, especially the elderly deserve to be able to walk on a sidewalk without fear of being wiped out by anyone/thing.
Am I wrong?

I just try to put myself in the victims/victims families shoes. How would I feel if my dear old nan or even my young son was struck and seriously injured through potential negligence?
Not happy.
Could I turn a blind eye? Probably. Possibly. But if there was a hint of anyone making a daft decision leading to such an event, I would at least want their wrists slapping.

If the same thing happened to someone in your family would you just brush it off?
Let me reiterate that not for a second would I sue the kids, but the parents are accountable in my eyes.
Tragic accidents do happen, but there is always a time and a place for doing certain activities.

Simple formula - have an accident, make a personal injury claim - pathetic even before it's applied to a 4-year old perp.

I think we have sensible laws to prevent this, age of responsibility and other by laws allowing small children to cycle on the pavement due to safety grounds.

It was America after all

My wifes nan fell out of chair and broke her hip, went to hospital, caught mrsa then died from the infection, apparently the hospital, whos cleanliness was negligible, was not responsible for the infection

If they as a large organisation are immune to blame then....... :?

How do they know the parents consented to it anyway :? not likely to admit it are they......smacks of solicitors trying to ensure they get paid as they know there is no money to be had from the children

Get your point though KIS.

As with all things, what is in America first, we seem to follow, which might be indicate the phenomena of parasite law professionals springing up and telling us to sue for whatever we can get away with.

In the long run the only people who win are the parasite lawyers as ever suing results in limitations to our freedoms.
