years ago I heard a faint ticking sound as I was driving , ignored it for a bit until I decided to stop and have a looksie . Lifted the bonnet and one side of the bay was covered in oil . Looked like the oil had forced it's way out of the filter .

Water pump? I'm no expert but I had one seize, the belt did a lot of squealing, but the engine overheated rather a lot aswell :?

i just seem to pour money down the drain because of cars...just wish for once i had 1 that didnt have a problem...

I bought a 6 year old Vectra for £500 (book price at least £2700), I jumped in it and took it straight on a trip to Cornwall - sitting waiting at the Torpoint ferry I hear a Suzuki Jeep engine ticking away - tick tick tick ticka ticka tick tick tick...


I then realized that it was my engine going tick tick tick... it had used an engines worth of oil on the outward trip...

well i am gunna find out what the latest problem with my money pit is in a mo as im about to take it to me seafront garage....and have a cuppa on the beach...its a nice morning...sunny and wwarm ...things arent too bad then.may have a huge bacon sandwich while im at it.

Careful with noisy water pumps. Many cars, these days, have the water pump driven off the cambelt.

Water pump seizes, cambelt snaps or slips.

well he says it may be the cam belt adjuster......going to stiff me another 150 frikkin pounds i dont have....oh joy...at least it was nice and sunny down the seafront.

im getting this in a few hours time, just away getting taxed and serviced.

audi a4 1.9tdi.

my vw passat 2.8 v6 is leaking oil from the rear diff and gearbox (god knows how much to fix)and my volvo v50 clutch has just went (£900 repair).......

cant live with the vw's 10mpg any longer.........you have to have a full tank for a drive out.
