Carrera Monza?

Just found an abondoned Carrera Monza, its been sat in the refuse part of my flats for a few weeks now, I think if no-one has moved it by this weekend then I may take it under my wing.

-reynolds 531 lugged frame
-Simano RX100 components
-Shimano 500EX (?) chainset, Biopace rings
-Mavic Open4CD rims.

I'm a mountainbiker so unfamiliar with road bikes tbh, but what makes me suspect it may be retro is the Biopace rings and Open 4CD rims.

Are these things any good? is it worth me saving this thing from the tip?

It sounds as if it could be quite acceptable with 531 and the Mavic rims at least.
