Lovely looking bike, reminds me that i have a frame and fork of the same colour hidden down in the shed that i should do something with. would still love to ad this one to the collection though.
p.s i run my QR skewers exactly the same, nice and tucked up!

Check the rear l/h , ie non drive side, dropout for a seriel No. That were it should be on a Carlton.

Thanks for the suggestion, I can only make out campagnolo but this could be due to the paint.

Re the post code ....

A few years back you could take your bike into the police office and they would stamp your post code and house number on it. Then if they stopped some scally on a nice bike they would know where it was stolen from.

Became redundant if you then sold the bike on.

Thats interesting! Surely they wouldn't file the serial no off as well tho? And it was underneath the paint work so would have to have been done either when made originally or after a respray.

Is no one interested in buying the bike..? I think it's a beautiful bike for the money..?!

I'd only be interested in the gruppo, saddle and poss the wheels. I'm in pompy so collection is poss. Wud be shame to split bike tho if this is all original build.
