Not nearly as bad as the high number of punctured (once!) innertubes dumped by the side of the road. :twisted:

You must live in an affluent area I've never seen dumped inner tubes, they would be coming home with me for repair if I did

Yes, they did come home with me. I have a seat that's made of found innertubes.

I had one puncture too many lately and have now gone ghetto tubeless as per this. It works a treat. Not looked back since. Cost £6 in sealant and 2 old 26" innner tubes (I did it on a 29er). Cost may rise if you have to buy 24" inner tubes for a 26er.

Does that work well then?

Do you have disc or rim brakes on the 29er? with rim brakes I presume you need to be very careful trimming the tube overspill.

Interesting video though, not seen that done before.

You always get loads draped over trees here every time a sportive has come though. I even got two water bottles last summer after one sportive.
