Hi All. I am preparing the way for my Kona Hei Hei frame. I am going to use my Middleburn RS7 Cranks and a Titanium bottom bracket from Action tec. How do I know which width to buy? The bb width would be fairly easy to find out(i dont know that yet, anyone?) but the axle width? Is the axle width specific to the cranks? Any help would be appretiated.

Steve

I find the best thing to do is keep all my old BB's of differing axle lengths (maybe your LBS could give you some?) and just try each one out in turn till you find the right width, then buy a new one in that size.

I always use the shortest axle i can :?

According to their website, Middleburn recommend a 113mm axle for their cranks.

cheers guys. That is what I thoguht. On my proflex I used a 110mm axle with the middleburns and it did cause a few problems with chain rubbing in certain gears. I think I'll go ahead and order the 113mm axle. Does anyone know the BB width for a Kona Hei Hei?

68mm

Pretty sure it would be 68mm. Did you know you can get a Middleburn Uno chainring for your RS7's? Looks a lot nicer than a standard spider with the middle ring on the inside. I'm using one on mine and it looks pretty sweet

I'm using a anodized red spider on them at the min, and red is going to be the theme over the bike so may keep it. Got to admit that with an uno tehy look real neat though, but does the uno give you a good spread of gears for XC kinda riding?
