Alrighty, off to SSEC next month, and I shall be camping in a field with some hairy single speeders for a weekend - it's been a while since I've spent a night under canvas (think Boy's Brigade and 1970's brown and yellow nylon sleeping bags), so asides from the obvious (tent, sleeping bag & mat, lighting, food/cooking gear and something to sit on while eating cheese) what else should I be thinking of bringing? Especially looking for the 'not obvious but I wouldn't go camping without it' kind of thing, although happy to hear about the obvious stuff I've no doubt missed as well.

Also, any kit recommendations? Starting from scratch here.

Some kind of portable stand tae keep yer back wheel off the ground so ye can do stuff tae yer bike................it's a pet peeve of mine to see bikes turned upside down getting the handlebars and controls scarped tae feck! :x

Le Loby's Foot or that type of thing- it's easier to fettle with the bike the right way up, too!

And more Bog Roll. And some cleaning wipes as well. And an Ortlieb bag to keep yer dry change dry for the end of the day. And a phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range.

ear plugs. insect repellant (where are you camping?, beer, phone charger for car, cash to buy meals out!

knife/multi tool for making a camp fire sausage/toast stick mand make random stuff that you might need  beer?  :D
