Campagnolo Stheno rims worth anything?

Not a money question.... A function one.... I am rebuilding the wheels on my ALM-1, and it came with a set of Stheno rims on it.. I have read lots of reviews on the net, and most complain of them having a tendency to crush under braking... I am putting most of that down to them not realizing that they are supposed to have a concave brake surface..........

Anyone out there have any experience with Campy MTB rims?? Will they stand up to a big guy commuting? (275lbs)

they are quite soft in my experience but that concave surface thing does make it look worse than it is

Ran them on a 'Dale for a year or two in the nineties, had no trouble at all other than I always found it awkward to set up the brake pads :? Was probably running Force40s though & I believe getting them to just about passably work is NASA's advanced competency test 8)

Quite deep & skinny as I remember, like me at the time...

Then I should look into aerospace engineering... I have had no problems setting them up I cheated and stuck some of that sticky backed sandpaper for the orbital sanders on the rims. I used it to pre-profile the shoes to match the concave rims... :)

I might just leave the old wheels laced up as spares, and put the new hubs in different rims probably some old Mavic 221's that I have....

There is a guy on Ebay US selling a NOS one right now... pretty cheap too....
