Well today i really pushed the boat out & brought these for my 2 Konas.
I got these hubs, another set of hubs the same laced to campag Atek rims & also a front mech.

Knowing very little & looking on the archive on here im starting to worry that they may not be mtb hubs. Can anyone tell me what ive brought as the only reference i can find t Athena is for a road bike :?

I will post a pic of the wheels in a mo ..... any help would be appreciated

Thats what i was starting to think but hoped not :(

I was sold them as MTB so i will take them back.
What about the mech, is that MTB or road, any way to tell?

Thanks.

Hi Jonnyboy,

If you are returning the Athena hubs and are still in-the-market for a fine pair of shiny Campagnolo Euclid hubs I have a pair I would like to sell-on. Take a look at this thread
http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=55034

I have a Dyna-Tech MT5 MMC frame on-the-way and was going to use them in the build but have decided to use Shimano Deore equipment on it (expect for the rims which will be Campagnolo K2s). Sooooo I shall be needing some funds to help buy the K2s and Shimano stuff hence the (reluctant) sale of these beautifully-made hubs. I have checked the size and the rear is 135mm OLN.

If you are interested in these please PM me I will be happy to discuss an amicable settlement. Cheers

Thanks for the offer of the Euclid hubs buddy, i may be in touch.

OK, this is stranger again ....... the rear hub on the built wheel fits the 130mm dropouts of my Kona perfectly but the rear hub in the box are shorter so i guess they must be 126 (road bike)

Both sets of hubs look the same but i guess the built wheels hub has got to be MTB if its 130 ?? ..... but i cant seem to find it in any Campy MTB catalogue.

Now i really am confused :? ...... anyone reconise it as mtb ?

Sorry for all the noob questions

126 and 130 were both available as road frames were available in both size for a couple of years.

Just like XT hubs were available as 130 and 135...

If your frame is for 130, I wouldn't worry about it as the road and MTB hubs of that generation were so similar anyway.

As for the 126 - you could fit a new axle and spacer.....

Cheers db,
