Built up a Serotta recently and bit the bullet with a new headset and found to my surprise new campags on ebay for £45-50, but check about bearings it looks like campag ship/package them seperatly

It's a vintage headset I'm after. I have a spare new Campag threaded. As it happens, I just picked up a new bike from eBay (another Rourkie project) it came with a nice C-Record headset. I'm still looking though ;-)

Ok,sure you know this but from memory the shimano is a lower stack than record/super and c-record a fair bit higher

I hadn't thought about that tbh. I suppose that if I go DA, I could cut the steerer. I am leaning towards DA if I can get one

I have a whole lot of Dura Ace 7400 parts that I'll be cleaning up and sorting out over the next week or so. The I'm fairly certain that the headset hardly has a mark on it.

Definitely interested. Also need front and rear mechs (prob 8 speed) and some DT shifters... everything else I have
