Calling all Zaskar Experts

Well it's either going to be a Zaskar or a Pantera. Either way they're lovely frames. I actually prefer the Pantera as you don't see as many of them about 8)

Don't remember Zaskars having mudguard mounts on the rear dropouts either (triangle bits sticking up).

1992 they had them. Should have the serial number on the inside of the non-drive side dropout - but this one appears to be missing it.

Looks 92ish that has been salvaged after a mishap. My '92 came with the same U-Brake (with the 'fin') but I only recently acquired it.

Thats been repaired with a later mech hanger. U-brake Zaskar frames didnt have replaceable mech hangers.

Whether there are fewer Panteras around or not, non Zaskar aluminium GTs do not ride as well as early Zaskars.

Dont know how definitive this is but www.derrailierhanger.com has a close match to my hanger.

According to their website it was for 93-95.

Werent U-Brakes gone by then?

correct. those tips were introduced in 1993, which was also the year GT switched from U Brake rear to Cantilever brake rear design.

So weird!
Looks liked a repaired rear end
Welds look pretty good and match the rest of the welds
Did GT do a lot of warranty work?

I have a pantera and a few zaskars - def looks like some repair work on the rear drop out - either way, it has some history - keep it and ride it hard!
