Have another GT Frame and I am puzzled...
  • Currently it is raw aluminum. May be original finish.

    Has rear u-brake.

End of top tube is flat (not concave).

    NO serial number.
Do the above four points point to it being a Zaskar frame?
or is possibly a lesser model?

I have searched this topic and am confused.

Thanks in advance.
Will get a picture posted soon.

it needs to have a 6061 stamp on one of the rear dropouts

I'd be worried that if it has no serial #, that someones trying to hide it's true identity....

The Pantera had a slash-cut end to the top tube as well, from memory.

without serial number or 6061 stamp, it's going to be quite difficult to nail down, precisely. Have you got any pics that could help?

one thing is definate, its either a 1991 or 1992 frame, due to the U Brake mounts.

do the rear drop outs show any signs of having been tampered with? ie filed or otherwise?

Here are some pics
There does not appear to be any signs of tampering or removal of serial number
The Seller was very reputable and included a set of replacement decals

Could be a Zaskar but could be a Pantera (think those are only too flat cap alloy).
Rear driveside dropout looks a bit odd (or is it dirt) has it been rewelded.

You,ld need to pull the seat post, headset or BB and look for red or silver paint residue to confirm a Pantera. Looks mighty dull what ever it is...seat post size is what?

hard to tell, but it looks like there has been some machining done to the drive side rear drop out, to affix the replaceable hanger?
