Cable stop "dimples" for '99 Klein Quantum Race

I bought myself a used Klein Quantum Race frame. A really nice frame, but it is missing the dimples that makes it possible to fit the shifter cable ends in the holes in the downtube and the brake cable in the hole in the top tube.

Any idea how to solve this problem?

I can't seem to find any suppliers of parts like that. And I've read that the "dimples" are a special patented part of the frame invented by Klein, that makes the frame stronger and at the same time more forgiving. I would really like to find a solution beyond just adding a fat layer of electrical tape to the end of the cable and just showe it in there and pray that it doesn't come loose.

Nothing Special

I don't think you need anything special the standard Chrome cable end stop should fit fine. Any local bike shop worth their salt should be able to sort you out just make sure that the cable end is the right size and will not slip inside the frame. You could even use an inline adjuster.

The problem is, the chrome cable end is 5.7 mm in diameter and the hole in the frame in the down tube is 6.5 mm in diameter. So I need a stopper with a sleeve of some sorts, so the cable end cap won't disappear into the frame.

Does that make sense at all?

I think i've got what you need if you still do.Black alloy stepped ferrules I can't remember what they used to come on but have still got several.I will try and get a pic on Sat.jm.

The ferrules you need are unique to Klein afaik
I had the same problem a few years ago and my Trek dealer ordered them from Trek head office.
They do nothing for the strength of the frame it is the pressing that they sit in that does that
But they are essential as cable stops, they are a very snug fit.
On the gear cable there were some that had a built in adjuster but they were so close to the frame that it was almost impossible to turn it so if you have an option just get the plain ones
