built a bike

I'll be scritch scritch big time next weekend. Stick on guards only on all of my steelies.

Need to fit them this weekend so I'm not 4 hours late for starting on Friday.

Another nice one Clive! Would be interested in your thoughts on the chainset, looks like a stronglight one? Am thinking of getting a compact one of those, cranks only are cheap and I already have chainrings...

I remember riding with mudguards, yorkshire winters are always wet and soggy. No need for them down here though, and no-one understands the concept of a bike for winter and a bike for summer

Hi Andy with regards to the chainset it appears to do the job well I took it out today and changing between the rings is fine very happy with it. You are correct it is a Strong light and the finish around the back of the spider is a bit rough but it is not really an issue when on the bike.

As for the ride it's a stiff enough frame and very agile with the gearing it's also very nice on the climbs. Weighing in a 10.7 kg its not the lightest but its no dead weight either overall I may in future upgrade some of the kit on it but its not a priority for now, The only problem I had today with it was a broken nipple but I will build up some new wheels for it this week it 5500 hubs and a set of NOS mavic Reflex in gold which should look very fetching with the red. I can say it's definitely a keeper. :D
