Build log, ramblings, cutting down a collection

Since my last spreadsheet posting which had 23 bikes on it on Aug 5th, I have sold 5 more bikes.
So my maths tells me that I now have, let me see...30 bikes left...wtf, how did that happen?
It seems I must have bought 12 bikes in the last three weeks!
Let me see: 2 Stumpjumpers, 2 Rocky Mountains, 2 British Eagles, a Holdsworth, a Raleigh Royal, a GT, a Shogun, a Raleigh Mistral and a CAAD3. Oh and a Mercian frame that I am not even counting at the moment since it is still just a frame. up guilty as charged m'lud! :D
The good news is that at least 7 bikes are spoken for so after selling 12 bikes during August I should be back to where I started. I am 100% not buying any more bikes in September.
In the meantime, anyone fancy a Giant Cadex or a Raleigh Dynatech titanium road bike?

Any in/outs to report chaps? 😃
Not sure yet!

I may have a Mercian coming my way next week but I need to decide on the size and whether it will fit in the collection.
It’s a 56cm same as my Claud Butler which is ridden with swept back bars and is thoroughly enjoyable. Just switched it to drops today with an 80mm riser stem to see how it goes but I think it’s a smidge too long with the road levers. (I’m 179cm for ref). It would do nicely to replace the CB directly as a townie/upright ride but in future if I were to do more touring I really quite enjoyed my experience of butterfly handlebars (also on a 56) so it should do well like tht.

HOWEVER I think for touring a 54cm might have substantial toe overlap as my 21” road frame is substantially blighted with that even without mudguards… as it stands I am conflicted sitting between sizes. Currently I am certain it won’t fit with drops which is a bit annoying, as the idea was for a neo-retro tourer build using 11sp 105 shifters my friend donated to me for working on his partners bike. The toe overlap thing is making the size down difficult though.
