I'd been following this Cinelli for ages and eventually just had to buy it, i've got plenty of 80's bikes in my collection but nothing that screams 80's like this with its mad fluro colours, I love it 😀
I always planned on upgrading it from the mostly Exage Mountain so its been quickly stripped down washed, cleaned and polished and it's come up well, it's got battle scars but i'm not to fussed about that.
Let the build begin.

Got some better parts fitted to it, a bit of Shimano Deore and Deore XT.
Kept the wheels which it came with, which are 6 speed Shimano Deore probably swap them if i can find some Deore XT.
The front and rear mechs are Deore XT M735 i'll just set the rear to run 6 speed.
Chainset is Deore XT M730 and i've went with 6 speed Deore MT60 shifters.
The brakes are Deore XT U-brake with some black Deore MT62 cantilevers and Deore XT four finger SLR brake levers.
Just need to get it cabled up and then get out on it this bank holiday.

I feel so conflicted Chris.
I both love and hate it in equal parts.

Great to see it's found a good home though.

Liking the black components choice against the paint. 😎if it’s grey over the weekend you might stand out a bit!

All cabled up ready to blind people 😁

Nice build. I hope you keep the old Exage Mountain for something else. The tyres though just don't do it for me I'm afraid. It needs a Farmer John on the back and A FJ's Cousin on the front for that authentic 80's finishing touch!

Cheers, the Exage will used on a 88 Rockhopper when i get round to doing it.
Yeah the wheels and tyres will be swapped out when i can find some XT wheels, i've got some Farmer John's on one of my other bikes so will probably nick them.
