Break question... is it possible ?

I Have been using a Judy and its ok but much prefer the Sid, it also has a lockout which I really like... so reading all the comments looks like it will be a brake booster or changing completely over to 'V' :( which will mean changing the M900Sti units,
Unless I could use a 'travel agent' not sure how these work though, would I have to then run a 'V' brake on the front.. ?

Thanks for your help so far, really appreciate it.. :)

Ignoring my earlier negativity, here is a really ugly solution:

Take one brake booster, a Tektro Power Hanger and get creative:

Sorry, not a working setup

I just had the bits laying around and a bike waiting for its V's

It would be more elegant to fit the brace behind the canti studs, if that leaves room for everything else.

Cheers fella, fitting it behind the brake was a 'considered option' but not sure if the brakes will have enough support on the studs, will experiment :) :) really appreciate your help... hopefully this thread might help someone else out... many thanks

Off to the workshop I go... :) spanners at the ready

A booster won't go over the studs, they're too wide. You need to unscrew the studs from the fork and actually thread them through the booster. As long as thread of the studs is long enough there shouldn't a problem with this - the canti's will fit no issue. It may be tight between the booster and the fork brace to actually fit the mounting bolt for the rocker.

you could get a 1 1/8" bolted (as in screw down to secure) cable hanger to use just above the top race of the headset as a spacer then run the cable down centrally the full length of the headtube to a hanger? it would look a bit odd, bit it would work...

Which when you pull real hard on the front brake will compress the fork...

Or when the fork compressed would leave you without a front brake

A mate had a set of Judy lowers resprayed to fit his SIDS, an expensive and time consuming option, but it'd work
