Brake Cable Routing Question

Can anyone help me as I'm a little confused about rear brake cable routing?? I have fitted XT V brakes so perhaps its meant to run cantis?? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated :-D "Please see pic to clarify"

I thought so ...... I will run cable to left of seat tube from router under top tube?? Do you think that will work??
 
What exactly do you mean by splayed out? DO you mean the arms are too wide appart?

If so have you tried changing the postion of the spacers on the pad thread?
 
it should take v's. you can adjust the pads by changing the different width washers around
 
Don't use the canti guide - you need the maximum length run from the cable stop to the noodle so as to have enough flex in the outer. With a shorter run, the stiffness of the outer would overpower the tensioning spring of the V-brake.
