Whilst on this subject - how did retrobikeguys Trimble not win a BOTM either. The thought and effort that went into that bike was immense - I think you'd say sick though Mike?

It didn't have Spin wheels, v-brakes, 2007 XT cranks or miss matched anodized colors.


I voted for your FRO. Definitive late 80s-early 90s mtb.

Grimtechs Merlin would get my 'best of the rest' vote.......

........but I think Ed's seasonal Yo may just pip it because I know his gets used and abused on a regular basis.

I would doubt all BOTM's are used on a regular basis, so maybe there should be 2 BOTM catagories; retro art bikes and retro used bikes??

Just personal preference for me, I like to see a bike being spanked rather than polished. No better soundtrack when your riding than the 'ting' of stones bouncing of your downtube!

Not sick, very cool. An amazing amount of work went into that thing. I admit that was a tough month.

Back in 2006 your FRO might have won, but it takes more than a 'Team issue' paint job and a Tioga disc wheel to win this nowadays. Sometimes, even Konas get beaten too... My, how we've grown.
