Bottom bracket replacement

Help! Total novice here. Can you help give me some pointers for a replacement for my original bottom bracket please? The steel bike frame (Dawes 1989 Reynolds 500 ATB) is 68mm. From the tip of each square end to the other, it's 122mm (not including the threaded section). Photo attached.

Is it possible to modernise this old bottom bracket whilst keeping the original Shimano Exage Country Biopace crankset? The cartridge bottom brackets seem to make much more sense, if appropriate.

Thanks.

Re:

Cool, I'm sure I have the plain type that fit under the crank caps but no decent ones for the later type with the plastic surround ;)

I now have 2 of those BB kicking around that wont be used. Shame If I read this earlier you could have had them. I need a 113 now it turns out!!
