Get a Kona!! But then I would say that....

If you feel like building your own, I've got a 17" Marin Ovation frame, probably a Hawk Hill, and can probably find you a lot of bits to hang on it, it would be a mish mash bike but it's a start. Wouldn't be looking for much more than the cost of postage, and I'm sure others on here could help out with other bits to complete it..... :xmas-cool:

Thanks a bunch for the offer but I'm looking more for ideas so when I have finished my current build (a "modern" Kinesis Maxlight XC) and saved up funds again (probably in about a year) I know my best options

They are out there, it's just not as easy as it used to be.... See my signature for a link to my Kona, the frame was free which helped, but the bits weren't expensive, just have to be patient, and a complete bike is always a better bet if you can find one (easier said than done mind!)

Buy something you like the look of, regardless of brand.

Splatter paint, neon, colour fades, e-stay frames, etc etc ... they're all out there. Have a mooch around and see what catches your eye.
