2. the kids that want more from life will work hard and be raped by the tax man to pay for the lazyier members of sociaty.
Do you think that if unemployment were wiped out tomorrow, your tax would go down?

wouldn't expect a rebate or lower tax code but at least it would be going up as fast as it is maybe even level out but the way its going its gonna be though the roof soon

i know a lot of things havn't help and the banks are the main bar stewards in it all taking silly pointless risks but every should be pulling together but they arn't thats why i put this is england please F"!k each other over for personal gain at every turn.

this country has gone to pot but the worst part is knowing that no one truly cares as long as there getting there own way

Is it the benefit scroungers though, are they where the true blame lies, for with every benefit claimant there is a bureaucrat working in the back ground, now tell me of the two, claimant and bureaucrat, who is likely to be the biggest drain on the country's coffers.

No index linked pensions on the dole.

I have said before, and I will say again, those that need are always made out to be at fault, the soft target to focus thought away from where it should be pointing.

But what I see in this country, is a political system that is on the rocks, half want the I'm all right jack mentality, and the other half wants everybody gets the same, which is the way the country will go, I have no idea, but the present government is doing it's best to shift the balance their way.

I have to say silverclaws.....good on them....it is about time that something changed

People give the old argument....I am worn out...I am too old to work......I am too good for that job...etc etc....I cant go to work because of my children.......how about dont have any if you cant support them then

That luxury should not be obtainable.......I intend to work till I die.....which is just as well....because I may have to to support the lasiest little tossers who dont want to do anything other than watch jeremy kyle...and go to mcds with their illegitimate children etc

I have to say that the group of society who manufacture their circumstances in order to receive maximum help from the state are a despicable sector of society.

They are the ones that make it hard for the people who the benefits system is supposed to be there for.

I hope the government does kick the lazy workshy to$$pots in the arse and stop people playing the system.. after all, the players are just playing the game.. if the game is stopped . . . . .

Makes me wonder what the people would be like in good employment ...they cant be that stupid .....maybe they would be good in a position of power

They'd make ideal bankers and probably not demand a £1mill salary with the same again in bonuses for knowing how to spell their own name and turning up for work on time.

The trouble is hard times can come to us all, even the best may find themselves unable to work through no fault of their own. Take the miners for example, or places where there is only one major employer in the area, a job for life does not exist anymore, so what systems we do have in place to catch those that fall need to be maintained, not disabled through legislation and that legislation through misplaced anger at a minority of people the bully boys i.e. the millionaires in power point their fingers at.

To me, I will accept things are going in the right direction when it starts with those at the top, as in any good example of leadership, when the greedy reckless bar stewards at the top, those getting awarded massive bonuses are controlled, then the right mind might filter down, but whilst those at the top are left alone, those at the bottom see no reason to change.

And what have we today in the news, the government is starting to reap what it sowed, meaning the coinservative government of Mrs. T in her bid to sell off the council houses and prevent councils using that sale money to build new stock has resulted in a housing crisis.

While it's easy to feel like benefit scum is a blanket term for everyone relying on the state, most do not mean it that way.
Those who are reliant on benefits (like the miners in your example) are not generally included when the benefits discussion surfaces for the gazillionth time.

I don't think many would begrudge the genuine folk the right to claim.
And those that do I hope die a slow and lonely death.
