"Bash guard" for FC-M739

Dear all,

I'd like to mount some sort of bash guard to my commuter bike (not to protect the chainrings but to keep the trousers away from them), but I'm not sure which one - can anybody tell me whether one of those would fit?

Do the chainrings have 4 or 5 bolts?

They have 5 bolts, sorry, I forgot to mention that. That's the bike in question (now with a real rear tire and SIDs instead of the Indys )

Some lower end rings came with threaded holes which allowed the shimano ring guard to be attached or detached....

I'll bet most were detached and thrown away

...they look like M737 not M739 on the bike shown? If they are M737 I had a set that had a bash guard on them that I removed. It may still be in my bits box, or I may have chucked it! But you can get them for that chainset...or tuck your trousers into your socks!

I asked for one a while back for the 737 ring and nobody seemed to have one. (Still need one ;-))

The 737 have the holes to screw it on the top ring, two where made one for 42T as one for 44T.

That will most likely be the solution of choice then or maybe one of these? Dirt repellent and hidden reflectors :mrgreen:
