I'll take any old fat tyres for commuting, it's great fun on the Caribou and I don't want to waste my new ones.

It's worth getting a set of Black Floyds.

look smooth rolling but still with trail capability, I don't want to swap too often

You can use BFs on the trail too, Bit slippy on slidy mud or loose gravel, but still rideable.

Great. I'm running canti's and the tyres were designed in California. Better bring spare pads.

Personally, I want to see the half-fat Velo. Thinking I'll bring the half-fat myself.

Velo, it's my ride, bring what you want, the company is more important to me. Same goes to everyone else, it's february, comfort is more important than looks on a winter ride.
