Background to Gios Evolution Compact Pro frame

Hello

I oriinally thought that my frame was an Evolution but now believe that it is a Compact Pro Evolution.

Mine is red with chrome lugs and fork. It has an raised Italian flag on the toptube.

It may not be that 'retro' and there is some more info online. Does anyone know where it sits in the pecking order to Gios frames and why the Gios frame sizes are so odd - 57cm c-t but only 55cm c-c?

Nearly retro as they were made from the late 80s through to the 90s. The last 2 digits of the number stamping on the rear drop out should give year of production. Classic Gios geometry and handling but no lightweight.
