Gios Compact Plus frame and sloping crown fork, late 1980s. 62cm seat tube C-C (63cm to the top), 58.5cm top tube. Back story here.
Vitus GTi steel tubing. Blue (obviously...) over chrome. Fork, head lugs and rear triangle bare chrome. Internal rear brake cabling, downtube shifter bosses and braze-on for front mech. Patented Gios sliding rear dropouts to adjust chainstay length. Takes a 27.2mm seatpost and Italian threaded BB.
Good condition for its age, no dents but some paint chipsand the chrome has surface rust, worst under the fork crown. Decals are good. Includes a Campagnolo threaded headset, slightly pitted on the surface but very smooth.
A lovely bike that’s been all over the Pyrenees and beyond without missing a beat. Always gets admiring comments from cognoscenti. Just a smidge too big for me and not getting ridden.
