Aubergine RAL ?

the kona pistacchio post makes me post this "aubergine" issue

I wish to have a frame repainted in an ubergine colour ie - very dark , with a reddish tone - close to black
but the painter can only have RAL stuff and evidently not the RGB stuff !
and I can't be present so mixing is not possible

so I was "torn" between RAL 3007 Black red and 4007 Purple violet

initially, on a computer screen I thought 4007 would be better but I have gone to a shop to see a printed colour chart and it changed my mind to 3007 as clearly the computer will not render colours in a completely "unbiased" manner ! but does the printed stuff do it better ?

so what is the closest RAL to aubergine ?

any colour specialist comment would be welcomed

( easy solution would be black !!!!!!)

if you have a movac suppier(car and commercial paint factor) near to you go and ask for a look at their ral chart, cant lay my hands on mine at the mo

Sat here with my RAL powder coating charts in front of me and 4007 has the purple undertone that defines the aubergine colour (IMO!) RAL 3007 looks to have to much of a brown tinge to it.
