Attics

Well not exactly an attic as my small house on was conerted into childrens room

so its my garden shed that is getting filled
and lately, since I found a VAR preciray, I am nearly obsessed with wheels
and i keep cardboard boxes either to be able to send what I sell but also so my wife does not assess properly the extent of the oversupply - in this pic there is also a bike in a cardboard box without wheels and another frame  - actually its a bit her fault if its not very tidy  I prefer to have to manage the "chaos" rather than endure frequent hassle

But Its true I have made progress for small parts as I have digged out nice pro furniture with drawers so at least , it is a bit tidyer in the garage

Mmm, a preciray - they take up alot of real estate but the very best for wheel truing/Building IMO. :D

I'd take a preciray over any fancy modern stand any day! ...no pictures?

You know it won't do you any good but you've asked for it

here is the beast
weighs at least 25 kilo so as I often lace in front of the TV in the sitting room  , that's quite an effort to shift the machine

but truly, that thing is so rigid and actually when you get used to it - its a bit unsettling at the beginning to have the "gauge" moving rather than seeing the spread between the rim and the fixed gauge change - quite nice  compared to the previous minoura I was using

probably a bit nicer than the parktool TS 3 which is very much sought after in the States as its not produced any more too !

Originally the price of that Preciray tool - which VAR put its name on - was pretty high I believe - around 10 000 french francs or the equivalent of more than 1500 euros
apprently it was still on sale around 2009 pour 1800 euros - now there is a link to Atelier Martin that may still buid it on order in Belgium

The French VAR Preciray : the living proof of french flair

Very nice!! Don't see them for sale very often but I will have one someday! Meh, Park tool...what you have there is much better!

And if you like to lace up in front of the TV (as do I) it doesn't matter how big your tele is, it would probably be easier to bring the TV to the truing stand!

Lovely work space too, well done!

Re:

Not the best picture (and outdated, and more bikes has been stored by now), but this is where I store my bikes: at my grandparents attic.

My grandparents live in a one floor house, so the whole second is an "attic". I have the luck that I can leave my bikes there :-)

My jealousy knows no bounds!! I might try and move my wife downstairs and my bikes up - expect some tears and they will be mine.
