We have continued to fly our helicopters(piston engined, our turbine ones are grounded), looking at the blue sky and thinking all was fine. Well check out the pic below of one of our tail rotors. The tail rotor spins much fater than the main rotor so tends to get worn more quickly. Its done about 15hrs flying since the ash has been around, in the bristol area. Waiting on the engineers to confirm it was the ash, but the blades are covered in sticky fine granules.
