anybody recommend a power shower? (Gratuitous content)

Re:

It's a long time since I used to 'advise' on these from the 'diy store sheets'. But the power showers you are. On about will run from the mains water and the combined is irrelevant, it'll need to collect the water and heat it then pump it out to you. If you water pressure is high it maybe fine, if not given you says its piddly coming out then err it may need to pulse it at you to get any power if there is no water store, it cannot go faster than its supply. Well unless it puts it through small heads and nizzles, but then that would help any shower.

Like I says it been a long time now and it was only the advice sheets.
Given you have combined, it should be able to provide a nice stream through a normal head to you via a mixer tap. That or your combi is pants. What is the cold like straight from the mains?

Cold from the mains is mental! I'm not showering under that.

No, I know what you mean. We gave 2 year old very efficient vailant combi. Not sure whether to 'splash' out (sorry) on a power shower or mixer. Our old one is very old 80s Mira.

Shower room ripped out. Windows out. Patio down.

Heating still on.

Depends on the pressure the combi and your mains can provide.

A lot of electric (non-power) showers end up with blocked inlet filters. I know cleaning mine transformed the shower.

Had to half dismantle the bathroom to get at it though. :/
Current mixer gets about 3 bar, more than enough.

Been talking to the plumber. Going with a mixer. Unless mrs HM says different.
