Any love for the old Carrera’s here?

I've Had a couple of the 91 Quattro Pro's both only had partial XT, my current one (Which I'm selling now) I've rebuild with 560 LX, I also have an 89 Quattro that I haven't even started, I'll probably end up moving that on now 😔
I also rebuilt a 91 Katmandu that been sat out in the element for years a few years back.
I remember lusting after The Quattro Pro & Katmandu in my local Halfords bitd

Me too, can I see pictures of the one your selling and the one you haven't started please? Asking for a friend 🫣

Worked on some of the early ones in the late 80s in Halfords. they were ok to work on and were clearly trying to make a name for themselves but no one really wanted them to start with.

The one we all REALLY dreaded working on/building was the Apollo Blizzard :D:D

That Corsa takes me back. I had one of those off my parents as a Christmas present back in about 1990. The one in the Halfords shop was a previous year’s model with a 531 frame and Ultegra groupset up for £400 instead of £600. One of the cable guides had broken off the 531 frame though so the guy in the shop managed to get me the current year’s 708 frame, like your one but fitted the previous year’s Ultegra groupset. I loved that bike, kept it for about 15 years and loved (almost) every mile on it.

Mine has an old man triple conversion with a long cage RX100 mech and a triple front mech. RX100 brakes, 600 pedals, 105 headset and bottom bracket, RX100 hubs and Araya rims. It should have come with the champagne 105 group with the 708 frame and as you say 600 with 531.
It's a really responsive bike and is easily on par with Italian or English hand built frames for ride quality.
One of my favourites.
