I bought a starter kit for my son of the bay.
All seems good with it apart from a missing wingnut on the top of the cymbol stand.
My local music shop says they are brand specific and really hard to get find??? I don't believe him as its just an 1/4 inch thread wingnut as far as i can see.
So, whats the truth?? :D :D

truth

Hey-good to see another young drummer on the go.....

truth is LMSs make LBSs look like Oxfam....theyll do anything to rip you off/make you order a 'brand-specific' part to squeeze more cash from you which you could be spending on bike parts.a wingnut or regular nut over a washer will do fine,i use one myself on my own kit,no worries...

-and buy him some earplugs!

It is hilarious the way people try to rip off the public. One of my friends set up an instrument supply shop three years ago. Being involved in the industry now and then I told him his prices were too high, and he ignored me. Two years later he is bust.

In exactly the same way as bike shops, you make your money on loyalty, a nut here or a bearing there should be seen as customer loyalty ploys, not profit opportunities.

Usually M8 as far as I know - that seems the most common size anyway.
