Ok, out of interest from something I wrote earlier, the situation of left and right brain thinking, I searched for a test, found one and did it. The results I got was exactly what I have got in the past, I am no brain dominant, as my results show 16 points left and 16 points right there fore I am undefinable, excellent

But this situation of right brain and left brain dominance is taken seriously, for it is known that schools and other learning establishments prefer left brain dominance where the emphasis and natural ability is on accuracy, analysis, logical thought and reasoning and there attempt to down play the right hemisphere thinking which is aesthetics, feeling and creativity. Which kind of does a disservice to those people who for no fault of their own are what they are.
Now, it is my theory that many of those who leave school and end up not making a career for themselves and sliding down the route towards the benefit culture are in fact right hemisphere thinkers, because I have observed many of those who many think are just wasters are very creative. So I am going to say I believe a lot of the problems we have with a benefit culture might very well stem from incorrect schooling, or schooling that has failed to capture the interest of those who have abilities elsewhere because the emphasis is on right brained individuals.
Now what I believe should be happening in the school system, is the testing of individuals to see where their natural talents lie and with that tailor their tuition to the best of their abilities not necessarily what government says the country needs, as governments move on, people are stuck with the education they receive for their life. The present system from what I have observed and experienced is akin to banging square pegs into round holes, it works, but it causes later dissatisfaction. the other act of fitting round pegs into square holes, is they don't fit simple as that, so drop out of the bottom. Education should be tailored to an individuals natural abilities as it is certain, we are not all created equal, yet the education system takes that approach, tithing the ones that could be taught and dumping the rest.
Now in the past the school failures might have taken menial jobs, labouring and such, but the present employment climate, well there is not many of them, but people have now grown up with expectation and a degree of self worth, whether it is warranted or not, for the media has implemented this belief in such things as everyone can be famous for at least a day and everyone one it seems, the young especially want to be famous whether they have a talent or not.
Can anyone else see any other forms of social engineering at work in our society ?
And what hemiphere is dominant with yourselves and do you have a career based upon your type of thinking, if so, are you happy with your choice or could things be different ?
