Dog owners who dont.. (and I dont want this turned into a dog poo thread ;))

I was just thinking that all the threads in general and off topic seem to be staying on topic at the mo...

So keeping this one on topic I have seen one or two snowflakes today and that's it, no snow, no fun, my Ice Spiker tyres are in the man cave seeing no use :( Wish I lived in Sweden with a icy lake to play on. I'll have to see if I can get a winter long secondment to our head office in Stockholm.

Never would I have thought there would be some kind of perverse contest for how bleeding cold it is.

I used to live in Shetland, the weather gets about as extreme as you like there.

Brought up crofting a hill farm, you don't want to lamb sheep in the hills in blizzards.

It is all relative.

When the snow was thick on the ground and there was little that could be done, we used to go surfing.

Nowadays I have spent far too many years in the south and in warmer climes to handle the cold.

I agree with LGF, it can get very cold regardless of where you are, the wind chill is the killer. In calm weather you can walk about in -5 in a T-shirt, as long as you are doing something to keep warm.

:)

With studded tyres aren't you supposed to run them on tarmac to set the studs first. Or is this only with studded winter tyres for cars. Then do a big sparky skid :D

This photo was taken in the car park of the Lion Inn last january. That is not a wall behind the bike but the beer garden! The snow was past the downstairs windows 3 weeks earlier when it first fell.

Not a contest but just to remind people that us 'southerners' from the east dont have it all warm and rosy.

My friend lives in the west country where, up until recently, it was rare to have frost on the ground.

Damn weather.......my shop roof is leaking again.........600 years of north sea wind has made a mess of it :x

mutter mumble mutter...............

was on the motee bike yesterday...went down t road at 60 mp;h while it was snowing....it took 5 hours to stop shaking and my legs to not be dark blue...it felt like my fingers got slammed in the door several times...i think the wind chill game hyperthermia for a while cos i felt cold on the inside even tho i was warm on the outside...its been snowing on and off all day but as we are next to the sea it has to be very cold cos the salt melts it

It's been sunny all day in Brighton

A bit chilly though. Had to wear gloves for this morning's commute!

Well we had a sunny day mostly in Inverness, but there was snow to and from my work. Just a bit further and there were blizzards. Brrrrrrhhhh. :)
